Monelison Volunteer Fire Department Responds to Large Tree Down on Lamont Circle

Madison Heights, VA – February 12, 2025 – The Monelison Volunteer Fire Department responded promptly to an emergency call regarding a large tree down, blocking the entire roadway at the 130 Block of Lamont Circle. The fallen tree disrupted services, including AEP Electricity, Xfinity Cable, and Verizon phone service.

Incident Details

Response Team: Attack 21 was dispatched to the scene.
Impact: The tree caused significant disruption by knocking out power, cable, and phone services in the area.
Safety Measures: Attack 21 remained on scene until AEP arrived and confirmed there were no live power lines on the ground.
Restoration Efforts: AEP will remove the tree from the roadway and work on restoring power, with other utility companies to follow.
Community Support: Lieutenant Jay Saren would also like to thank the local neighbor who provided hot chocolate while he waited for AEP to arrive.
