Wind gusts of 35 to 55 mph expected through this evening across the mountains and foothills.
Strongest gusts, up to 60 mph, will be today at higher elevations, especially along the southern Blue Ridge. This includes Fancy Gap where I-77 crosses the ridge line.
Travel hazard to high profile vehicles.
Downed trees and power lines.
Scattered power outages.
