Madison Heights, VA – On March 12th at approximately 7:30 PM, the Monelison Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire on Lakeridge Drive. Upon arrival, units discovered heavy flames at the B/C corner, which had spread to the attic and roof areas. Due to the intensity of the fire, command initially initiated an exterior attack. A tactical decision was then made to send fire crews inside for an aggressive interior assault to quickly extinguish the flames. Responding units included Engine 21, Engine 22, Tanker 21, Unit 21, and Chief 2, with additional support from the Amherst Fire Department, Pedlar Fire Department, Amherst Fire & EMS, and the Amherst County Sheriff's Office.
