Madison Heights, VA – February 10, 2025 – The Monelison Volunteer Fire Department is gearing up for a significant winter storm expected to impact portions of southwest Virginia from 6 AM Tuesday to noon EST Wednesday. A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect during this period. Weather Forecast: What: Heavy mixed winter precipitation expected. Total snow and sleet accumulations of 3 to 6 inches and ice accumulations up to two-tenths of an inch are possible. Locally higher ice amounts are expected along the Blue Ridge. Delay all travel if possible. If travel is absolutely necessary, drive with extreme caution and be prepared for sudden changes in visibility.
