Madison Heights, VA – On the evening of February 15, 2025, the Monelison Volunteer Fire Department responded to two separate motor vehicle accidents in Madison Heights, VA.

The first accident occurred at the intersection of N Five Forks Rd and Father Judge Rd. Engine 23 responded to the scene and provided traffic control to ensure the safety of the responders and the public.

The second accident took place at the intersection of S. Amherst Highway and Cedar Gate Rd. Both Engine 23 and Rescue 21 responded to the scene. The southbound lane of S. Amherst Highway was temporarily shut down for approximately 10 minutes to allow a wrecker to remove the vehicle involved in the accident.

Both incidents were investigated by the Amherst County Sheriff’s Office.

The Monelison Volunteer Fire Department would like to remind all drivers to exercise caution, especially on wet roads. Wet conditions can significantly increase stopping distances and reduce visibility, making it crucial to drive at safe speeds and maintain a safe following distance.
