Madison Heights, VA – March 14, 2025 – The Monelison Volunteer Fire Department is proud to announce that Lieutenant Jay Saren and Senior Firefighter Jeff Hilty have successfully completed their certification as Fire Instructor 1. This achievement follows an intensive 42-hour course at the Amherst Fire Department.

Lieutenant Saren and Firefighter Hilty's dedication and hard work have equipped them with the skills and knowledge necessary to train and mentor their fellow firefighters. Their certification as Fire Instructor 1 is a testament to their commitment to excellence and continuous improvement in fire service.
