Hazardous Materials Response & Education
Understanding the fundamentals of hazardous materials and hazmat response requires a measured, deliberate and intensive approach. Unlike general fire department calls, a hazmat incident is a low probability, hight threat, huge consequence, multi-jurisdictional situation.
For a firefighter, understanding the world of hazardous materials is as straightforward as learning the signs and symptoms used by EMS. As complex as hazmat substances are, the nature and chemistry of any material can be understood.
Forestry Firefighting
Wild land Firefighters may be required to work long hours in challenging conditions, such as high temperatures and steep terrains.
Fire Suppression
